HOMEWORK Have answers for question 1 in Use of English 9-5: Habits, and know what the different phrasal verbs mean. HOMEWORK Prepare a presentation for THURSDAY January 25, this will be your oral exam for the move-up test on FRIDAY January 26. Your presentation needs:  to be 5 minutes long to be related to a topic in language, culture, social movements or ethical issues FOR WEDNESDAY Create a word form table for the vocabulary found in Use of English 8-6, you do not need to fill in the blanks.

HOMEWORK:  More than just a winky face  Do Writing 7-2 , and we'll go over the homework tomorrow in class.  Here's the presentation I used in class with lots of different exercises.  Remember that Friday you need to have an essay to share with me and that Monday you have a 5 minute presentation to do about a social movement of your choice.  Possible review websites for reading and listening can be found in this link .

Homework 1) Write a compare/contrast essay that looks at the 1960s Hippie movement in the USA and the same time period in your country. Try for 5 paragraphs. If you want to have feedback before the move-up test, make sure you get it to me before Friday evening.  2) Think of two social movements that you would like to present about. It will be a 5 minute presentation on Monday.

Homework:  Do exercise #1 in Use of English 6-7. We'll go over your answers tomorrow.  Optional: read the Writing 6-1 again, we will do the exercise tomorrow in class. 

Noun Clauses

HOMEWORK There is no "actual" homework, but if you would like some extra practice on NOUN CLAUSES , do the following exercises or at least some of them and I will share the answers with you on Monday.  Noun Clauses 01 (easy) Noun Clauses 02 (TONS of practice) Also some of you have mentioned wanting extra practice for the exam, you can practice your reading and listening skills with links found in this document .  Please note that I have not had time to get the unit exercises done yet, but there is plenty there to do for reading and listening, just look at the tabs on the bottom of the spreadsheet. 

Summary: The Bookstore Debate

HOMEWORK:  Do Media 6-1 question number 2, write 2 paragraphs. One paragraph that summarizes the debate that you heard between Manjoo and Saul, the other paragraph will discuss who you agree with more.
